If Your Broker, Brokerage Firm, Financial Advisor or Investment Consultant Made Unauthorized Trades In Your Account, You May Have An Unauthorized Trading Claim Against Your Broker.
-Report Unauthorized Trading and Unauthorized Trades-
What is Unauthorized Trading?
Unauthorized trading, unauthorized trades and unauthorized transactions are trades (such as sales or purchases of securities) your broker makes in your account without your permission, knowledge or authorization.
Brokers must have specific authorization from an investor to purchase or sell securities on their behalf unless the broker or brokerage firm has been given written authority to discretionary trade in the investor’s account.
How Do You Know If Your Broker Made Unauthorized Trades?
In most cases, unauthorized trading may be discovered through reading trade confirmations and monthly brokerage account statements. For example, sometimes an investor may receive a trade confirmation for an unknown trade or transaction. If you see an investment transaction or trade that you don’t recognize, you may be the victim of unauthorized trading.
