Step 4:  Appointment, Selection or Determination of Securities Arbitrator or Arbitration Panel

The next step in the securities arbitration process typically involves the selection, determination or appointment of a securities arbitrator or arbitration panel.  Arbitrator and arbitration panel lists are typically generated by a computer on a random basis.  The computer-generated arbitrator and arbitration panel lists are sent to the parties with arbitrator disclosure information.   The parties will then typically rank and/or strike the arbitrators on the list.   Based on ranking, availability, and conflicts, arbitrators or arbitration panel will be assigned to the case.
